Wounded Warrior Project
This is for everyone but especially any Marines out there.
In October, 4 motivated Marines are going to run from the Tun Tavern in Philly to the Iwo Jima Monument in DC to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. It will be a 177.5, (get it, 1775, birth year of the Marines) mile run. They are selling cool T-Shirts to raise money for the event. They can be purchased at the web site below. I ordered one for Me, Deb, Ray, and Mustach Mike. Get T-shirt....great cause, and anyone, meaning Non-Marines are encouraged to wear one. www.1775.weebly.com I encourage all to try and help out with this truly unique event. Great cause, and what a great bunch these four guys are!
Just ordered me one. I got an old "Gunny Sarge" from WWII living down the street and I plan on givin it to him for his birthday----he'll be 86 years old this September. The "Tribute" video is great! Thanks for the heads up. Gimp

The Wounded Warrior Project is one of our favorite places to send money! My bride and I have their refrigerator magnets etc. holding up photos on the 'frige of some of our grandchildren! The WWP has a very high percentage of their donations that actually go to the intended beneficiaries.

I have been assured by Gunny Miranda, one of the runners, that every penny extra WILL be donated and the money will go directly to wounded Marines and Sailors, even those that are now out of the service due to their wounds. He is a man I truly believe in. They will get some more money out of me and Deb.

Oops!
Just to clairify....the proceeds go to THE WOUNDED MARINE PROJECT which is different from the WWP. It's all the same to me, they are all OUR WOUNDED WARRIORS, but this particular event goes to Wounded Marine's and Sailors. Same same, but different. Hope I didn't get anyone in hot water over this.
