London's Guardian reports from Bunia, a city of some 90,000 in Congo (n? Zaire), where U.N. peacekeepers aren't doing a very good job keeping the peace:

Dead bodies litter Bunia's empty streets. From some the blood still drips from machete slashes, spear thrusts and bullet wounds. Others are two weeks old and stinking, half-eaten by the packs of dogs flopping lazily about the once-prosperous north-eastern capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

There are women's bodies scattered in Bunia's main market place; a baby's body on its main road; two priests' bodies inside one church. Last week, a burning corpse was tossed on to the main UN compound's lawn, to show 700 Uruguayan peacekeepers what they were missing while they cowered under fire behind its razor-wire perimeter, unauthorised to intervene in the latest massacre of Congolese civilians. . . .

"Does the world care what happens to Congo? No," said Lieutenant-Colonel Daniel Vollot, the French commander of UN forces in Ituri.

"We've been sending messages every day to [the UN headquarters in] New York [saying] this was going to happen, that we need more troops. Nothing was done."

Meanwhile, London's Times reports that Congolese pygmies are pleading with the U.N. "to set up an international tribunal to put government and rebel fighters . . . on trial for acts of cannibalism against their people." The Times notes that other Congolese "regard [pygmies] as 'subhuman,' and believe that their flesh can confer magical powers."

Where is Jessie Jackson and his NAACP cronies they make a good show of complaining about the amount of Aide we send Africa but these civil wars , Slavery in the Sudan by Black Muslims against the Minority Black Christians shows the true colours of Jessie ,If it don't make him and the NAACP money they don't care! pygmies getting eaten in Africa just isn't as contrversial to Jessie as a bunch of Southern States and their Heritage(flags and Statues) :cd:

Right on target! The ongoing tragedies in Africa point out the continuing hypocrisy of both the United Nations and the liberals, their chief apologists and protectors. These inhumane events also point out the fact that many countries in Africa are incapable of self-rule since they have no history of "a government of laws rather than a government of men." Ther has not been one word of angst, anguish or condemnation emanating from the left - their silence is more deafening than the sad legacy of bloating corpses.

And BTW: I wonder when the media is going to stop using the bogus term 'African-American' to describe a Black person? When is the media going to pull their head out of their collective anal cavities and realize that not every nation in Africa is populated by people that are ethnically Negroid? The Moroccans, Algerians, Egyptians, and several other nations are not Negroid. Is the media so geographically-challenged that they don't know the difference?

I agree SuperScout most of North Africa is of Mediterranean Decent so they have a lot in comon with the Portuguese, Italians, Spanish, Greek and Turks. Traditionally Western,Eastern and Mid-Africa was populated by the Negroids . The Eastern side received influences from the Arabs coming to trade which brought Islam to Africa much like the Europeans who came from the west coast of Africa to introduce Christianity. Then there is the Southern tip of Africa which until the British and Germans colonized had a Nomadic tribal population much like the Sioux of the Plains of N.A. so when the despots of some of the recently self ruled countries go for the land Grab complaining the Europeans stole their land its all bogus .Just because the Buffalo roamed from Montana to Texas and a group of individuals follow the herd when the Buffalo migrate doesn't give them property rights ! same way in Africa. Now on the other hand If you build a permanent Structure (house) and cultivate the land according to the old laws you could then claim around 500 acres or as far as you could see in one day depending on the law at the time.All one has to do to figure out what to call one's self is look at the Flag pole in most states. You are Americans First! a citizen of your State 2nd. and if you can trace your grandparents to another Country their ethnic group 3rd if you have to go six generations back to the old country ,you are no more African, European, Asian, Australian ,or Antartican then Ira Hayes. Like Ira we are all Americans Now.Unless of course you move to another Country and Immigrate and then go to the nearest consulate and turn in your Passport,Drivers license, and Social Security Number and renounce your Citizenship then you can be called that Country-American.......until then we are all Americans who are Born Here are become Naturalized (though a few naturalized Citizens are called Some other Country-Americans)

was watching a show on the Discovery channel yesterday.."World's Most Dangerous Places", by Pelton about the Liberian Civil War..ghastly...they filmed the rebels killing in cold blood prisoners of war, disemboweling them, some while still alive, and then eating the still beating hearts, liver and other organs, including brains. The gross parts were blurred out, but the impact was still very real....the rebels really thought it made them strong and invincible...WHY AREN'T THE GODDAMNED BLACK LEADERS IN THIS COUNTRY ADDRESSING THIS AND THE SLAVERY STILL RAMPANT IN AFRICA ???? THEY ARE JUST SICK PUPPIES ONE AND ALL ??? DID NOT OUR CIVIL WAR TEACH THEM ANYTHING ???
