Using Your Own Brain & Skills
10-21-2020
(aka – Nobody Is Perfect) “People rely so damned much these days upon the words and the work of others!” And seldom does creativity come into play anymore, leading me to believe that we are fast becoming nothing more than a race of copy machines and transcribers? And once again, creativity and innovation are the keys to writing, and not just being a human fax machine, as nearly anyone who has been trained or educated in the use of a computer (or a typewriter) can copy someone else’s work? Whereas, originality truly marks a dividing point between the ape and a thinker. In short, I would much rather read the work of an under-educated-original thinker, than that of some “English Literature Professor” with his (or her) nose stuck firmly within someone else’s labors, or worst yet - planted deeply in another’s hind section? Because at least that person is using their own brain and creativity, and that is something that just might relate facts or data that is new to you, educating, and even refreshing at times? In short again - You are not likely to learn too damned much from a walking textbook that you have already read a few dozen times? Whereas, if the materials are new to you, and even if they are in error or appear to be faulty at times (at least within your own reasoning mind), at least you are getting some insight into the point(s) that the other guy or gal is attempting to get across –“Do You Not??” “And that is also the true beauty of language and human communication!” Hardcore
