2-Dutch soldiers in critical condition & another wounded after shooting outside Indianapolis Hotel

Three Dutch soldiers have been rushed to the hospital after they were shot outside an Indiana hotel overnight.

Indianapolis Metro Police arrived at the Hampton Inn in the city's south Meridian Street and west Maryland Street around 3:30 a.m., where they found the three wounded men. All three of them were sent to a nearby hospital, with two in critical condition and one in stable condition, according to police.

"The shooting took place in front of the hotel where the commandos are staying," the Netherlands Ministry of Defense reported in a statement. "They are in the state of Indiana on exercise. The incident happened during the military's free time."

According to the ministry, two of its soldiers were responsive, while one was in too critical condition to be approached. All three were soldiers from the Commando Corps, which is considered to be the special force of the Royal Netherlands Army.

Police report that the suspect (or suspects) was known to the soldiers in a disturbance prior to the shooting and remains at large.

This comes two days after several Indiana schools went under lockdown after one of its high school students was fatally shot at a bus stop Thursday morning.

Personal note: Now this confirms all warnings regarding packing sidearms.
What provoked such occurences really doesn't warrant shootings such as
these ongoing & current provacations. They weren't armed and no doubt
were obviously taken as non-American's - and used violence - as a method
of unknowingly shooting U.S. Allias. But once again it doesn't take away
the methods of discern taken out on these folks. These are the issues that
bring about - carrying side arms in public which are not warranted.

Insecurity is everywhere - more have been shot or killed because of such
elements - taking the law into your own hands - and shooting said allia's
(not terrorist). This adds to the ongoing shooting of non-american personnel.
Several states have concealed carrier license - I know many who have these.
I don't carry - I don't feel the need for one. But I am observant of my
surroundings - and can bird dog those who are getting out of line.

Doesn't mean I won't get shot at some time (I had that happen long ago)
but - it would only add to the grief - such as these allias who suffered being
severally wounded and hopefully will not die. America of late is armed to
the teeth. Insecurity is high - and more of this will happen - in or around
canteena's or bars. There's really no reason for carrying them - except
if you where you an undercover cop off duty.

What have we become? Jesse James or some Moffia operators. By taking
the law into our own hands - you had better have a good answer and
be carrying your gun license - which may be revoked - if found guilty
in court. Next time it could be you laying on the floor bleeding out!
Carrying a gun doesn't make you any braver - but it could make you
out as a killer at times. Self defense doesn't always allow walk aways.
If you use it - you may loose - and if guilty - consider the time you
may be serving - if found guilty.

If you sense something is afoot better to back out the door before
becoming part of the interaction. Better safe than sorry or D.O.A.
at the local hospital.
