American Legion Declares War
More bad news for the "support the troops but oppose the war" crowd.
On Friday the American Legion said they're declaring war on anti-war protesters, and they're starting a letter-writing campaign from soldiers fighting in Iraq who want to get their side of the story out. "America needs to hear the good news firsthand from those who are fighting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Legion National Commander Tom Bock in a press release excerpted by the liberal web site Raw Story. "It's about time that the American public hears about the positive things our soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen and coastguardsmen are doing for our country and for the Afghani and Iraqi people." The letters will be posted Legion's web site, "Letters to America from the Front." The 2.7 million member veterans group has declared war on "public protests" and "media events" that undermine U.S. troops, Bock noted. "The American Legion will stand against anyone and any group that would demoralize our troops, or worse, endanger their lives by encouraging terrorists to continue their cowardly attacks against freedom-loving peoples," Thomas Cadmus, another national commander, recently told Legion delegates. The American Legion's rank and file voted to use any means necessary to "ensure the united backing of the American people to support our troops and the global war on terrorism."

The "asinine" part is pretty damn plain...What does "declaring war" mean when the American Legion says it ...DUH !!!
Larry P.S. : It is very damn dificult for me to even comprehend what this means in the first place with obnoxious, arrogant, loudmouths like O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, The Fox Network, the complicit major media, and all the rest, pushing the adminstration's line on everything.... Bottom line....Bush and Co. has got their story in your face and in your ears, all the time. Larry

I think it's a great idea... and I also think the TV networks and newspapers who broadcast the nightly body count along with the nightly "Remembering our Fallen" and Presidential poll numbers segments, ought to be required to post one GI's letter home afterward or beforehand.

You have the right to say what ever you want, as far as I am conserned, But given that right, you have to extend it to others. The American Leagon is fighting back at the stand that the war protestors and the ACLU have stated and demonstrated. These demonstration, in my opinion, are harmfull to the US military and the US in general.
For to long the military groups and the American people have been silent to anti Bush/anti war groups, I for one say its about time some people got some balls and stood up and said F-U protestors, F-U ACLU. And If they don't like it, to damm bad. Ron |

BULLSEYE,...Ron.
Still Ron and other rational ones, you've just got to see the irony of it all. The Dems and/or ACLU types perpetual and non-stop whinning underminers of America at War and all and everything Republican,...really get flustered and defensive when finally receiving some of their very own medicine.
WOW!!!...Dems and/or ACLU types must actually believe themselves more caring, more knowing and more superior,...and all that other DNC BS that they so echoingly and incessantly regurgitate? Hopefully such keeps up a little longer, and thus blowing their cover and/or showing people what they really are. Be nice seeing such fanatical political zealots self-destruct,...also. Neil |
