Default The Corpse Of Christmas Past - A Modern Christmas Carol

After watching several versions of Scrooge (A Christmas Carol) over the past couple of weeks, I have been able to draw upon one conclusion - the Spirit of The Season is being slaughtered on a daily basis!

When Charles Dickens published the Christmas Carol, away back in December of 1843, almost a century before my birth, things to him could not have seemed to be much worse - social injustice and inequity was spinning out of control! As a matter of fact, and to put this era into a proper time frame, this was just some 7 years after the fall of the Alamo (ancient history to most)!

So what has happened since that time? Have we conquered the biggest disease ever to befall mankind - warfare? Have we learned tolerance toward all men? Have we found our way around greed and avarice? Have we learned how to save lives by diverting part of the wealth of mankind toward more constructive goals. Has the true agenda of international politics, transformed itself into a quest for brotherly love? The answer to all of the above, and more, is a resounding “NO!”

“Unfortunately for us all, the corpses of “Christmas Past” have become the hapless victims of Christmas Present and Future!”

“WHEN, IF EVER, WILL WE EVER LEARN?”

Default Saw a picture in the paper.

Some guy built a big cross, hung a Santa from the cross with a noose. And had sign saying: "Hanging the grinch that stole your Credit Card."

Interesting: I believe it was in California.
