COMBAT ENGINEERS!
Truly a forgotton warrior in many wars. Don't ever remember seeing a Combat Engineer in pressed boonies or shined boots. Engineers got the job done! Griz and all others should be very proud.......they fought their butts off on Carolyn and kept the jungle away.
Great picture of a Rome Plow. They were D9 Cats, weren't they? It's my understanding that they got the name Rome Plow because the blades were made in Rome Georgia. Griz, is that fact or fiction? Packo

Fact about the name being tied to Ga.(I think).Most of the machines however were Cat D-7s.The D-9 would have been too big..and too heavy.

In 1970 we were fling to our jump off point and
flow over what usto be the big red ones ao all you could see for a long way off was a BIG red one patch cut out of the jungle i think it was an lock don't really know but that was the biggset dame thing i'd every saw
