Cool Lt

You said maybe this isn't "Vietnam". Were the units I was in different from others? It seemed there was always a discussion going on trying to decide if we were going to get a M.C. or a fast car and then just drive around the country if we made it back home. Some of us got out of that mode after the first accident. (I started off with a van but that was because of ladies, did switch to an British MG and also had that bike for a while.) Obviously, some didn't get out of the MC mode - help me is that arrested development or just wanting to have a good time? Keep riding kid. Actually I think you need to be more worried about that bar you took me to than what might happen on the street. Just the same, be careful you are riding for two.

Stay healthy,
Andy

Ron , Sid and I agree at 56 years of age we need to be on geezer glides and off the rockets. Your right Andy we were all gonna buy 750 Triumph's if we made it home and talked about it all the time. Us old bikers understand why dogs love to stick their heads out car windows ! Ride to live , Live to ride !!

Thumbs up LT

It is wonderful to see that motor again and to see you enjoying it as Frank did.Frank loved that bike and it was his way(mine also)of dealing with the world when things started to bring him down.Riding that bike he was on top of the world and buddy could he ride, how him and I didn't get killed or arrested I don't know. After he passed away I kept his motor in my shop and would drive it just to keep the battery up but to come out and ride my motor and just see his parked there was to much to bear.I am so glad you have it now and you are riding it,that was what it was made for.I have a new Harley now(2003 Ultra Classic)geezer glide and I wish that it would have got here in time for him to see,I know he would have liked it and wherever he is today I know he smiling down at you LT,crank back on the throttle and ride to live.

We had planned to go this year(2004) on the Run to the Wall across America,we still are.

Thank you Danny , as Franks best friend your words bring me much comfort. I am honored to be riding Franks bike but felt a little guilty too on getting it.I needed your blessing. Thank you. Please stay in touch and I'd love to ride with you someday. Feel like Frank got my dog and I got his bike.He rides with me everytime I am on the road. Peace

Default Looks like the spirit of

X-GRUNT lives on and is having a great time riding with you John. It was an honor and a privilage to call Frank my friend, as it is the same to call you my friend as well. Frank would be proud as hell to know his bike is in the hands of such a friend as you.

I posted this song for Frank shortly before he passed away, a song by the Dobbie Brothers. He called me to thank me for it a few days before he died and said he was going out to buy the CD with the song on it. He loved this one.

May God continue to hold him in his arms, and bless you as well old friend. Ride on..........Ride on!

Dangerous
Words and Music by the Doobie Brothers
Patrick Simmons

Come on over baby, got nothin' to lose,
well, you never get enough o' those highway blues.
Just another road to freedom and you know that it ain't no crime.

Can't you hear it baby, like thunder I know.
It's like the magic and the passion of rock and roll.
It's a Harley motorcycle ragin' out of control.

Danger up ahead of you, comin' up behind you, too.
Turn it to the left, you turn it to the right.
Now you twist the throttle up with all your might.

Dangerous, that's why you love it.
Dangerous, that's why you love it.

Well, you like to drive fast baby, so do I.
Slide up right beside me, watch the broken lines fly.
'Cause there's no one who can catch us;
just let anybody give it a try.

Can't you hear it baby, like thunder I know
It's like the magic and the passion of rock 'n' roll.
You're a rebel and you know it,
and you're not afraid to throw it away, oooh.

Danger up ahead of you, comin' up behind you, too.
Turn it to the left, and turn it to the right.
Now you twist the throttle up with all your might.

Dangerous, that's why you love it.
Dangerous, that's why you love it.

Well, dangerous, that's why you love it.
Dangerous, that's why you love it.

Repeat and fade

Good looking bike . Good friend with a good wife. Listen to Frank . Thank you Danny. Get gatewood and come visit. We got to ride together sometime. . Never rode with Frank cause we was always going somewhere when he got here that needed coolers. I don't want to make that mistake again. Thanks.
