Default 101st Soilders attacked by traitorous member

Today in Kuwaite A member of the 101st commited the highest form of treason attacking members of his own company all in the name of Allah ,Under the guise of the rule that Muslims can't attack other Muslims. If that is so, what will the US do with any one else serving in the Military with dual Loyalties ? which is stronger Honor, Duty, Country or the Hold Allah or some other religion or cause has on a person? When every one I know enlisted in the Service they promised to Protect and Defend the Constitution and Country from all enemies forign and domestic. so where does this find our errant troop who decides to follow another then the oath they swore to uphold?('') I don't know but A Court Martial followed by a fireing squad was the useual punishment during wartime in the past. May the Injured young men of the 101st get well soon and get home safely.

Default I HAVE HAD SEVERAL SOJERS

contact me on the large email list I maintain from my work site...a list that has become known over the years as the MilVet/MilRet List...about 1600 folks of all services...all eras...some FINE SOJERS who sound even more perplexed than you...writing to this old Jarhead to "vent"...and...me tellin' them that while it was a sad day for the famed 101st...and the NCO/PO Corps since this individual was a Sgt...that they should key more on the fine job that so many fine Soldiers are doing over in Iraq.

As for the event, sure brings back some bad memories from about 33 years or so ago for many of us open here!

As for me, I know several Muslims serving in Iraq with the Marines...they saying that there are Muslims and there are Muslims, and, any that support Saddam need to go...! I would say that Sgt Kools/Akbar will be dealt with in an appropriate manner.

We here in Jacksonville, NC (home of Camp Lejeune) are following events in Iraq very, very closely since about 18,000 of our friends and neighbors are over there, and we have ALL our Military folks in our prayers and thoughts.

Semper Fi to all,

Fragging your fellow soldiers and/or officer's isn't something new. Had it happen in my compound in Nam back in '71. It wasn't a religion based thing then just a GI whom was pissed at a couple of officers for putting him on shit burning detail so he went to their hootch that night and fragged them.
We also had events where officers from states came into the battlefield and wanted to act like gods and know it all and somehow got zapped by friendly fire..so not a new thing. Men in stressful sit under combat cond. do crazy, off the wall stuff.

SJ...I fully agree, my only request is that the punishment is carried out in front of the Division that he dishonored.

He should be tried, convicted, then let his unit carry out the punishment!
