What is this "Deem and Pass" crap?
The health care bill gets passed WITHOUT being voted on????
The health care bill gets passed WITHOUT being able to READ it first???? Sounds highly unconstitutional to me. "Self-Executing Rule" my ass! The only "self-executing" I see is some people currently in office! Steve

Ya wanna know what "Deem and Pass" is about? Ask a Republican - the GOP used the rule at least 35 times the last time they were in control.
Now, the GOP (with a lot of help from Fox and the "scream-machine") is advancing the idea that the "deem and pass" process is tantamount to passing health care reform without voting on it. In fact, the Democrats are taking an up or down vote on the Senate health care bill. They're just doing it AT THE SAME TIME as they're passing the reconciliation language, which countermands several controversial provisions. Ah, I see.
The Republicans did it also, so that makes it OKAY. And what about all these shit-house deals with Florida, Nebraska, and North Dakota? Are those okay too? For the same reason? Good thinkin' there, bud.
