Just got a call from the hospital. It ain't good. I won't be here for a bit. Hold her Father and love her now.

Mandie was sent home yesterday under hospice care. Her liver is failing but she?s not a candidate for transplant because she?s too weak. She is not in pain but Joanne and I were in her hospital room Thursday afternoon when the doctor told her that she would go home, if she made it through the night and if she made it through the 150+ mile trip home. The doctor told her that she would have little discomfort but would eventually slip into a coma and die. The doctor turned and told us that there was no more that they could do. Mandie is by far the strongest and bravest person that I have ever known. Last night the family was invited by Mandie to join her and her husband Jon for dinner. Before the meal a circle of prayer was formed around the table at Mandies request.
