Where Are We Heading With This?

Is this war in the Middle East really winnable, or are we merely engaged in an exercise in bloody futility? Fighting any war merely to eventually attain a cease-fire or armistice exhausts manpower, lives, recourses and public opinion!

Clear-cut goals, and a willingness to obliterate an enemy, is (unfortunately) the only way to prevail, and diplomatic conflicts are doomed to failure from the start, as only nitwits or weapons makers continues to pursue a fools errand!

Korea - Fought to a draw, no real decision or official end to that war!

Somalia - No comment needed!

Gulf War II - A war without end perhaps!

?So where are we heading?? Will we continue to develop space-age weapons and equipment, only to fight nineteenth century wars? Will we continue to throw America?s finest into a meat grinder against an illiterate, uncouth, gaggle of insane louts to whom death is but an escape from reality, sanity and responsibility?

Any man (or nation) that possesses the overwhelming power to win as we do, but opts instead to show the world that we can go toe to toe and life for life with them, and this using weapons of their own choosing, is a damned fool or a dangerous lunatic!

War is not a chess game after all, but rather a deadly serious business, and the quicker that those making decisions realize this, the sooner we can get back to building for the future of our own nation! ?The United States, after all, must come first to our elected leadership!!?

Get it done using all of those billion dollar gadgets that our politicians love to brag about, or get the Hell out of camel-land! For he, after all, who fights by the other guy?s rules, is doomed to failure and is usually far removed from the scene of carnage!

Had we opted in August of 1945 to continue to fight a war of attrition, instead of using the ?Big One? as tragic as it was, many of you may never have been born. ?Your fathers, hundreds of thousands of them, may have been erased from existence before you were even conceived!?
