A good place to start.
Now that axing the Federal budget seems to be the order of the day, I have a few suggestions. Get rid of the rule that members of Congress get automatic pay raises unless they vote them down. Congressional retirement is age 50 if over 25 years of service and 62 if over 5 years. Get rid of that and put them on SS and Medicare same as everybody else. I am sure as the new Tea Party congressmen are now in orientation this is fresh on their minds and they should now be deciding the best place, the only fair place to start cutting the Federal Budget is themselves. I won't hold my breath.

One thing I would like to see eliminated is tax breaks for moving American companies overseas. I know it goes against the "purity" of being against any tax increases but if there is one thing that points a dagger into the backs of the working man, it is this.

All good suggestions! Now, pass them on to the newly elected representatives, and let's see if we can get some of them enacted into law.

Another thing I would like to see is every time they pass a law that costs the government money to implement, they have to show how they are going to increase taxes to pay for it. Connect once more the idea if we want to spend money, we have to figure out how to pay for it.

I've got a better idea: with all new proposed legislation, make the bill state what part of the US Constitution absolutely requires this expenditure of money. Apply a strict interrpretation while we're at it.

This is so simple, even a Congressman could do it.

Conservatives take money with their right hand and liberals with their left.
