TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Navy will attend the 2021 International Military Competitions, which are slated to be held in several countries, including Iran.

In Iran and China, competitions are planned to be held in the field of diving and air defense units.

In the competitions, hypothetical enemy targets will be targeted at sea and naval rescue operations will be carried out.

China has been invited to participate in the tournament since 2014. China hosted the tournament for the first time in 2017.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan recently announced the presence of two Azerbaijani military vessels in the port of Anzali to participate in international naval competitions. 66 sailors of the Navy of the Republic of Azerbaijan are scheduled to take part in the competition, which will be held from August 22 in the port of Anzali in Iran.

The International Military Competitions entitled "Sea Cup" is held every year in the coastal waters of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the participation of four Caspian littoral states (Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan).

The Islamic Republic of Iran is hosting the International Military Competitions for the first time this year.

The two-stage naval drills are also designed to improve naval commanders' skills in organizing combat operations and managing forces in battle.

In the first phase of the drills, ships and boats will destroy hypothetical enemy mines while in the second phase of the drill, combat missions have been planned to prevent terrorist acts and sabotage in the Caspian Sea.

Hasanov had earlier described his country’s military cooperation with Iran as successful, and said Baku was hopeful to have broader cooperation with Tehran.

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Baku Javad Jahangirzadeh in 2019, Lieutenant General Hasanov described military cooperation between Tehran and Baku as successful, and characterized meetings between the two countries as significant in boosting bilateral ties.

He underlined that that Iran-Azerbaijan military collaboration is also improving.

Iran's ambassador, for his part, described the two countries' military cooperation for regional security as significant.

During the meeting, both officials exchanged views on mutual military collaboration and reciprocal visits of their military delegations.

Prospects of cooperation in the military, medical and technical fields were among the topics discussed during the meeting.

Personal note: Looks like their putting the gang back together. I wonder why North Korea isn't part of their exercise? In fact North Korea has been quite of late. Let's hope NATO is on the ball and monitoring the events in their part of the world. Hell who knows maybe them guys will hire the Taliban to help do their dirty work for them. What's the word of the day - RADICAL INFUSION.

Even Europe (the NATO gang) has been pretty quite of late. Maybe its the virus - who knows?
