Tar Heel/Red Herring

With the Tar Heel State (North Carolina) already reeling from the impact of Chinese textile imports, the Chinese-Reds are again demanding even more concessions from your already beleaguered Uncle Sam!

Of course, the President has admitted that the retraining programs in the South may be turning out far more potential employees in certain professions than needed, but what the hell, who says that one can not be educated and unemployed at the same time!

In reality, however, at least President Bush can take solace in the idea that some American ire is being redirected away from the bloody Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and into a reported (?) rising economy, apple pie and all! Hell, if the economy really takes off and flies, maybe some of those spin doctors beyond the Potomac can wage a campaign to convince the public that this war never really took place, it was all a liberal rumor? But of course, those fighting this war know better! ?The bullets are real, the grenades are real, the blood is real, and the death is real!?

We Americans had better not get all that enthused over the prospect of a recovering economy alone! Not at a time when many more soldiers are being marshaled for deployment to the Middle East (Did not Vietnam start out this way)? What we need now, more than a ?Daddy War Bucks? mentality, is a society similar to that which existed in 1946-1949. One in which those who fought to insure the survival of tree of peace, live long enough to enjoy its fruits!

And when this war is successfully culminated, and our society again absorbs our magnificent returning warriors, who will redesign and re-educate the Veterans Administration and finally set them upon a path that is geared toward veteran-service, and not just self-service!? ?These are my opinions!!?

I have heard a great deal of chatter from both political parties
about what they are going to do if re-elected, or just elected? Well, instead of the usual chin music, the time is ripe (RIGHT NOW) to begin to put up or shut the hell up!

I wish that both Parties would quit telling us what the other is doing wrong, and show us what they can do right! This nation of ours has to come first, even before individual wealth, political power, or insatiable egos, a commodity that is in no short supply on either side of the aisle!!!!
