Ignoring The Will Of The People!
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, a dream was born. The people of that fledgling nation envisioned a life of liberty, honesty, a fair shake, and of course, a government that the majority directed. These men and women (citizens of true grit), worked hard, protected their sovereignty, and most of all, reserved the right to control their own destiny. Most of all, they sought to maintaining and exercise control over their elected government!
Nowadays, however, elections are more big business than granting the privilege of enacting the public will, or so it seems to me? Elections have been stolen, the mandates of the majority ignored, and the concept of political equality has all but disappeared from the originally envisioned matrix. It is a whole different ballgame, and the score is ten-zip, even before the first ball is pitched!
It seems that “WE THE PEOPLE” (the common folks), are only pulled out of the closet, dusted off, and treated with even a modicum of respect, when our votes are needed, taxes to be paid, or a war to be fought! (ALAS)
