Default Remembering DI"s

Remembering Drill Instructor?s,

Remember when your Senior Drill Instructor told you that he was now your Father, your Mother and your Priest? I do, I remember that day and I remember saying (to myself) RIGHT.
Well it turned out that he was.
As a Father he taught you how to fight, clime a rope, repel off a tower, fire a rifle and kicked your ass and disciplined you when you needed it, He also taught you teamwork, honor, integrity and what courage is.
As a Mother (and what a Mother He was) He got you up in the morning and tucked you in at night. Made sure you were fed three meals a day. Made sure you made your rack every morning. He got you off to school and was exercised. He made sure you bathed every day and got you to a Doctor when you needed.
As a Priest He made you confess when you screwed up and pay the penance. If you had a problem He would (begrudgingly sometimes) help you get it fixed or get you somewhere or to someone who could.
The one thing He never said was that He would be your Brother. Though He knew that some day He would be.
I remember my DI?s SSgt Engles, SSgt. Molina and Sgt. Otto for if not for these three Marines I would never have become a Marine myself. Thank You Marines My DI?s My Brothers.

SSgt. Molina Junior DI
