I couldn't have said it better James. I had the opportunity to meet him here in Tampa about three years ago at a book signing for his then "new" book "Steel My Soldiers Heart"...........he was a fascinating speaker and even though I as well didn't always agree with some of his opinions.............I always respected him for the same reasons a lot folks here have already mentioned.....he WAS a TRUE "grunt" leader with his troopers well being always the most important quality of his service.

You're right................I wish there were more like him!

May he rest in ever lasting peace.

I spent about 30 mins with him before anyone else showed up at the book signing and traded a few emails with him. He had his faults like any man, but he was 200% for the grunt. Rest In Peace Soldier.
