Default Lz Carolyn....39 Years Ago Today

I just want to take a moment and say a silent prayer for all those brave Sky Troopers of the 2nd Bn. 8th Cav, Companies C, E, and HHC, and all the artillery, cooks and clerks who fought the battle of LZ Carolyn 39 years ago today. C, E, and HHC were awarded the Valorus Unit Award that night as they fought off, hand to hand, the 95th NVA Regiment who had intended to give the LZ to Ho Chi Minh as a birthday present. I would also like to thank the Air Force and the 9th Cav for their air support, who , without, I may not be here today. I would also like to thank Doc Fred and all the men and women of 15th Med who took such good care of wounded and dying Sky Troopers who fought their hearts out and won the battle against overwhelming odds.

I salute all my Comrades alive and dead.

HONOR AND COURAGE!

Airborne!

Default Dmz Engineer

Hi Everyone, I served with the 14th Combat Engineers up at Camp Carroll, Cam Lo, FSB Barbara, FSB Rakkason, LZ Jack, Dong Ha, QuangTri, LZ Nancy, and Camp Evans. During Apr 70-71.

i wanted to ask one of you guys about LZ Carolyn in May the 5th, 6th 1969. I have a friend who was on the 155's during the attack on the LZ on May 5th, 6th of 69' . He needs info on the attack, those names of the warriors who gave all for a PTSD claim. He has gone through a lot these 39 years.

Go to this web site: It lists all the dead and captured in a day by day format. I have found that the day reported does not usually correspond to the day killed but it is off just a day or so usually. Get the lists, go to the Wall website and it will list what unit the killed were in. I daresay if they were from 2/8th Cav on those days on or after May 6th, they were killed on LZ Carolyn. Another thing if you wish to search other times, just change the date on the address and it will take you there. Another thing, if he wants a real concise history of the 1st Cav for that period, go to Amazon.com and order the book Incursion by JD Coleman. It is out of print but you can get used copies cheap there.
