Is I.Q. a requirement??
What is the lowest I.Q. you need to work at a VA center? A recent trip to New York City's 23rd street hospital has we wondering.
I have applied for Vocational Rehabilitation through the VA. My application for Un-employability was denined. My PTSD and Hearing disabilities are not rated at a high enough percentage to qualify me for un-employability. Ok, that aside I want some help finding a new career. My appointment was for Varick St. thus I was at the wrong place. Seven other people looked at my paperwork, then I was sent to the 7th floor Rehabilitation ward. My paperwork was handed off to still three more people! The third finally pointed me in the right direction. I tried to obtain a ride on the shuttle to Varick St. It was not to leave until 1010, my appointment was at 0900. It being 0845 I asked for direction in order to drive there. Driving seems to be something new to these people. There were plenty of people who could tell me what train or bus to take, but know one who could direct me by car. Shouldn't be to hard to get from the "East Side" to the "West Side" or so I thought. Well, I missed my appointment and had to reschedule. I then asked for directions from the "East Side", no such luck in obtaining them. I asked for them from the "West Side" and got an answer. Yet, I could not be directed from 23rd St. to Varick St. Now I don't live in NYC, so it's forgein country to me. Yeah, I can find myself around with directions but off the cuff, no way. If you have an information desk, shouldn't you beable to offer information? Same was true when I asked about the USS Intrepid Museum, no one had a clue. Wouldn't you think Veteran's might want to visit this attraction while in the area? Having missed the appointment I received a denial letter for Voc. Rehab. two days later! Didn't anyone check to see if I had rescheduled? Crazy system. Yeah, it was my fault I didn't wind up going to Varick St. to start with. But give a guy a chance...
