Obama Might Reclassify Semiautomatic Firearms – Second Amendment Alert!

The Washington Post reported that Sarah Brady said Obama told her his administration is “working on it,” likely referring to gun control. And Brady then told the NY Post that Obama said, “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

John Snyder, a well-known gun rights’ advocate and former Jesuit seminarian, said that based on confidential information, “forces linked with the administration suggest the government classify semiautomatic firearms and multiple capacity ammunition feeding devices as Title 2 National Firearms Act items under the Gun Control Act of 1968.

“Under this scenario, semiautomatics and high capacity magazines could be acquired only with great difficulty and at great expense by America’s estimated 100 million law-abiding firearms owners.” [this could be the beginning of the end for the Second Amendment]

Clinton’s partial, temporary ban on semi-automatics in the ’80′s was allowed to expire because, unsurprisingly, it made no appreciable impact.
To pass an outright law through Congress would not be doable and might cause a domestic crisis but he has other means such as executive orders, something he has abused and used to bypass Congress and our Constitution.

Mr. Snyder notes:

“For several years, various groups and individuals have discussed the anti-gun owner proclivities of the administration. Obama anti-gun owner activities have involved the promulgation of anti-gun federal regulations, the appointment of anti-gun judges to the federal courts, including the Supreme Court, and the appointment of anti-gun personnel to other high federal positions, including the attorney generalship of the United States.”

Only the most oblivious did not see the possibility of a ban on small arms coming our way. In the past, Obama has said he is against all firearms and in another context, he has said that he has not changed his ideology at all over the years.

Obama is anti-gun. He was consistently anti-gun while serving in the senate. He has continued to prove nothing has changed as he pushes the Arms Trade Treaty.

President Obama has a long-standing, negative view of personal gun ownership. In a 1996 gun questionnaire he completed, he checked off that he was a member of the New Party [Socialist], will approve a single payer system for Illinois, approve abortions as young as 12 or 13 possibly, ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns…[Read about Obama's opposition to the Second Amendment]



Recently, the White House rewrote the Bill of Rights on their website and the one substantive change they made was to the second amendment. Instead of using the words from the Constitution, they said this…The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.

This is a subtle and critical change of wording. The Obama administration is saying we do not have an inherent right. They are saying it is a right given by the government. We should be alarmed by this. This administration masterfully uses words to further their agenda.

A UN treaty to limit and eventually destroy our gun rights is in the works.

Reuters reported that “hours after U.S. President Barack Obama was re-elected, the United States backed a U.N. committee’s call on Wednesday to renew debate over a draft international treaty to regulate the $70 billion global conventional arms trade.” There are ways around the 2/3rds ratification by the Senate, such as signing a UN Agreement in lieu of a Treaty or by Executive Order. In addition, Harry Reid can change the rules of the Senate it seems.

Goodbye second amendment.

The Arms Trade treaty [formerly the Small Arms Trade Treaty] is absolutely aimed at ending our second amendment. The only small arms Obama wants to control are ours and it has nothing to do with illicit arms dealing throughout the world. The countries buying and selling illicit arms are nations governed by terrorists and dictators.

The last vote on the Second Amendment was only one vote away from eliminating it and the dissenting opinion stated that Americans had no expectation to the right of self-defense.
