Default Going back to a camp site

We were on this 3 or 5 day thing around Kontum and the LT decides to go back to one of our night set up places.
Have any of you ever went back to a sight where you were previously? After that I could see why we were so easy to follow.
Fresh dug holes, C-rat cans , cig butts, plastic spoon, and the worst thing was a full m-16 mag.
We were a lot carefuller after that.

NEVER. But we did stay in one place for more than one day sometimes. No just bent handels if you were hanging frags on wed gear it had to be tied down. I agree we were not hard to track though but with our tracks we could run 20 klicks to a new place in nothing flat and dismount and go anywhere

Default LT

I can't remember doing it more than once,(going back) and that was a real eye opener, You know, you think you are doing stuff right and not leaving anything and then you find out with your own eyes that you suck at indian 101.
I (we) never got to ride in a track. Road on tanks several times with the 69th or the 77th Armor, I can't remember anymore, Around Dak To, I didn't like that at all.

I think we stated two days in the same spot near Kontum but did patrols during the stay. Left alot of calling cards behind, know that though. Like you said Ron, fresh holes to bury the C-Rats, cigarette butts all over. Hell I think I left a dump there without burying it.

Ron-

Please note that nobody-but nobody (in my unit at least)-ever rode inside the tracks. Was bad for your health.

Unhappy

Us either Hal. In real heavy mined AO's even the driver got on top and tied poles to the laterals and gas pedel. Once a track in front of me hit a big double stacked mine and blew everyone off. I saw the TC laying in the grass. Don't remember seeing any blood but when I grabed his uniform to pull him away from the track it was like pulling a bag of marbels he was so broke up. He was dead

I nevr rode on top of em either. A moving foxhole attracts the eye, especially when its clanking
