Loving Spoonfull...I remember that song as we were being transported to the train station from the induction center on Whitehall st. New York City to Fort Jackson SC. May 1966

Bob K I was born and raised in Woodside in Queens NY. Was sworn in at Whitehall St, on March 27, 1967, then just like you I was sent off to Fort Jackson SC for basic E-2-1 on Tank Hill. Will never forget drag a s s hill.

Whitehall St.......that place was definitely the pits. After spending the day there, any other place would be better. Boy!!! was I wrong
