Jamestown Colony was established in 1607. There was some folks with the last name of Harrison who was apart of the Jamestown colony. They became know as the Virginia Harrisons.

Anyway, we have traced our history back to the Virginia Harrisons. Lots of gaps after about 1750s that are hard to fill in, but it is believed the Harrison part of our family originated from the Harrisons at Jamestown.

Our great, great . . . . . . . grand parents probably knew each other.

My Great Grandfather served in the 10th Illinois Infantry Regiment. Fought mostly in the west. He wasn't at Gettysburg.

My Great Grandfather was wounded at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. He was a member of the 4th Virginia Infantry, The Stonewall Brigade. I have always viewed his military duty with pride & even more so that he recovered from his wound to finish out his military career before returning to his home in Blacksburg, VA.

That is a nice area in Virginia. I went to Roanoke College. Almost went to VPI and became a Hokey but had other items on the agenda.
