Spike or Upward Trend?
Two major international events this week may be the cause of the upward spike or trend in the President's popularity. The first and obvious, (obvious to most, anyway!) was the capture of SH, and that event's distinct possibility to lower the threat level to our warriors in Iraq. The second event, although not as splashy, was the acquiescence of Libya in our demands to forego development of WMD. Libya, in and of itself, may not have been much of a threat to us today, but their known linkage to known terrorist groups raises the possibility of threat to us exponentially.
Add good news on the economic front, of jobs creation, markedly improving stock market, and increasing consumer confidence, and there are even more reasons for his popularity increase.
Couple the international news and the economic news with the fact that the Democrat party's candidates are evidencing repeated episodes of foot-in-mouth disease, self-inflicted wounds, and nothing more than the politics of hatred, hypocrisy, and gloom 'n doom, and it's little wonder why the 61% isn't higher! I'll bet it's an upward trend!!
