Two Marines plead innocent of sailor?s murder
December 11, 2003
Two Marines plead innocent of sailor?s murder Associated Press SAN DIEGO ? Two Camp Pendleton, Calif., Marines who served in Iraq pleaded innocent to charges that they killed a sailor and wounded three other people in a drive-by shooting here last month. Lance Cpl. Myron Thomas, 21, and Lance Cpl. Kenneth Hall, 19, entered their pleas to the murder and assault charges in Superior Court on Wednesday. Superior Court Judge Peter Deddeh ordered Thomas, who prosecutors say fired the shots, held without bail. Hall, the suspected driver, was ordered held on $1 million bail. Roderick Little, 22, an active-duty sailor who went AWOL in San Diego, died Nov. 19 when a gunman in a slow-moving car opened fire about 2:30 a.m. on a group of people standing outside a fast-food restaurant. Two other sailors and a civilian were wounded in the shooting near the 32nd Street Naval Station. Prosecutors say two other Marines were inside the car with Hall and Thomas, including one who was not charged and Lance Cpl. Bernard Jones, who pleaded innocent Wednesday to being an accessory after the fact. Deputy District Attorney Michael Groch said Jones removed shell casings from the vehicle the day after the shooting. http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/sto...925-2472256.php Sempers, Roger
