Stop It - Before It Starts!

CNN today - Veterans Day, 11 November, 2006

It was announced on CNN today that many returning veterans of the ?War In The Middle East? are having trouble in attaining disability benefits! Many more of these brave men and women are also having a problem in re-adjusting upon their return home! This, unfortunately, is a reoccurring problem that has plagued many returning heroes from all of America?s conflicts, all the way back to 1776. ?And have no doubts about it, all who served out in ?Harm?s Way? are genuine heroes in my opinion!?

After watching various programs about United States' units in Iraq, I found that they too share many common denominators with our military of wars past. The courage, dedication, pride, dignity under fire, commitment, and the blood that is spilled by our people, has been the same in all of our conflicts!

"There is also an unfortunate and totally unacceptable aspect of this, and other wars - it being the penchant of all too many on the home-front to quickly forget!"

How dare any entity (especially those mandated to take care of our mentally and physically wounded veterans), dismiss their responsibilities to those who served, bled and died to keep this nation free and secure!!

"No returning veteran should have to do battle again - this time to attain that which he or she has earned - Disability And Other Benefits??

"If it is the mindset of a scant few of those in power to deny the benefits that our returning veterans have earned and bled for, then I for one say that these same bureaucrats are in need of yet another wake- up call!"

?If some within the system intend to make our returning veterans suffer more than they already have, then let us all unite anew to put a stop to this travesty before it begins! Peace, after all, can never be truly achieved unless we are willing to recognize the sacrifices of those who bleed and perished to gain and perpetuate it!? (hrt)
