does anybody know...
when, what year?that the american airlines company
started flying to the south pacific? i have a collectible souvenir which is a small round box of matches and on the label it says "american airlines now flys to the south pacific" i have attached a picture. the match box is full too. thanks, dan t

Hey Dan,
This was as close as I coud find, but that matchbox sure looks older! 1980: Robert L. Crandall became president and chief operating officer of AMR Corporation and American Airlines. American introduced service to Nassau, Bahamas, and Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. On Dec. 17, American launched nonstop service between Los Angeles and Honolulu with daily continuing service to and from Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and New York.

jane... i believe it had to be in the late 1930's if you look at the colors and style ...it is i think older than 1980. some PILOT
out there must know...how about it air force...what;s the correct answer. i can't get american airlines to answer my e mail. i'll try a little longer. dan
