?EVOLUTION IN REVERSE??

This is not a diatribe ?FOR or AGAINST? Evolution, although the behavior of many who reside on Earth today, might certainly add credence to the ?Ape To Man Analogy!? Today?s news, however, certainly ran from the ridiculous to the sublime, as it covered not only terrorism, political intrigue, and the Judicial System, but indeed, even found time to
cover our fellow travelers (animals) of Planet Earth!?

To begin with, dozens of white pigeons were released during the September 11, 2002 ceremony to commemorate the dastardly terrorist attack a year earlier! Well, that sounds benign enough, but apparently instead of homing pigeons, somebody went out and bought the birds from a local poultry store instead! The bird-brains, not be regimented to teamwork, ended up smacking into windows, tangled-up in women?s hair, and even dead upon the pavement from culture-shock! The man entrusted with buying the 80 plus Rock Doves (pigeons), defended his action as saving money and freeing these airborne-squab from the dinner table!

?Hey, but wait a minute here!? The birds were not the only benefactees of a race that saves it?s dumber brethren from extermination! It was also reported that some 375 apes (chimpanzees and monkeys) were also rescued from a grizzly demise! It seems that a research center in New Mexico has surrendered the monkeys and their assorted uncles to a ?Florida Ape-Care Center!? They figured that these monkeys deserved a break, having been used (without their knowledge or consent I might add) in decades of cruel and unusual experimentation!

For the record, these ?Sprung Apes? were used in tests with malaria, hepatitis, and even aids. The center that utilized these hapless creatures appeared to have felt and expressed remorse over the pain and suffering that they caused, and vowed never again to use these animals as research subjects!

I found this revelation touching and pathetic at the same time! The research center that brutalized these apes apparently felt sorry and offered some restitution for the monkeys in the shape of TLC, housing, medical care and penance! Whereas, our own government, who utilized unwitting human beings in similar medical atrocities, is still ignoring their victims and hiding their faces from the public! (DAIG-IN 21-75, COS 385 and the Church Senate Hearings on Human Experimentation of 1977)

Are we to assume by this, that the ape merits more concern than mere un-informed humanity? Are we witnessing ?EVOLUTION IN REVERSE HERE?, perhaps!

How about it Senator Clelland (former head of VA), I understand that you are demanding a full accounting (finally) of the Domestic Atrocities (experimentations) conducted against Americans by the Army (and other services), the CIA, our medical community and even elements of former administrations?! You are to be applauded Senator, as it truly takes concern and guts to go where no man has gone before!

Maybe under your direction, those veterans who were brutalized in covert experimentation projects will finally be recognized, compensated and treated for what was done to them in the last six decades, especially between 1955 and 1967!?

We also share a common friend, Max, and he speaks very highly of your ethics and determination, as well as your undying love for your fellow veterans! (WELL, WE SHALL SEE SIR!)
