I'm the lone Jarhead on a advisor team...mostly Soldiers (retired)...good crew but the folks open here who know me will get a kick out of this...my "work uniforms" are ARMY Desert Cammo Utility...just our company name above the left breast pocket and last name above the right...yup...Ol' MARINEVET wearin' an "Army Suit"...!!!! :cl:

Semper Fi from the Sands of Kandahar,
Will make sure the Commandant is aware of such transgression so he can have the court martial papers all drawn up ready for your signature, when you return MARINE!!!!!

Gimpy & The Humper:

Well Gimpy, I'm the oldest on our Advisory Team by nine years...may not be the oldest person here aboard Kandahar, but hell, I ain't even checkin'...just know that I stay up with the "youngsters" (in their mid-40s to mid-50s) on the Team...even thru the heat of last summer...130 in the shade and about 150 in the sun...running some of them into the ground w/re to physical effort.

Doing what I can to make a positive diff over here. Sometimes it seems like one step forward and three back...but hell...that's the way it goes...just have to keep at'm!

Yeah NC...only good thing is that it's the same DCU style uniform worn by USN/USAF folks over here. Since the Commandant Select (LtGen Jim Conway) is a long-time acquaintance of mine, I'll report to him for proper disciplinary action...maybe a couple cold beers or something...sure miss cold beer over here...DRY as a bone!

Semper Fi to all from the Sands of Kandahar,

...non-alky beer really sucks, but have one every now and then over at the Dutch Club.. They have a brand (?) that isn't too bad.

Default THANKS BUT...

...a couple folks have come up back-channel asking IF I need anything over here...really appreciate it.

I am currently receiving quite a few packages from various Marine Corps League and other Vet outfits/Vets. I send 99% of it either further "down range" (out to the folks at Forward Operating Bases [FOBs]) or dispense to the Top Kicks at HQ of our local forces here...USA, USAF, USN...even to the occasional Jarheads that come thru our AO.

I recommend those who want to send "CARE" packages to the troops key on Iraq UNLESS you're already dealing with a truly forward-deployed outfit here in the 'Stan. IF you're already sending goodies to folks out at the FOBs...GOOD ON YA!!!!

Most have seen the "Lists" of items to send over here...they're all pretty much on target, but I can tell you that packaged Jerky, Summer Sausage (type) treats, Pretzels and pre-packaged snacks (tuna/crackers-cheese/crackers, etc) are the ones folks fight over!

Thanks again for your support of our Deployed Forces.

Semper Fidelis From the Sands of Kandahar.

Talking Wayne!

Welcome Back!

As you can see as a therapist I'm a failure: Ron is still Ron, Bob K. is still Bob K. The Psycovets still need medication and lots of it. I am a failure but I did loose 120 LBS and climb Mt Adams.

I'm going to join the Marines.

Default KEITH...

...ahhhh but you tried me Bucko, and that's what counts...!!!

Then too, the PsycoVets are doing their part keeping the Pharms going, so there's a good side to it all!!! Hell, IF it weren't for some righteous stuff I'm takin' over here, I'd be...well..."less calm"...! :cl:

Double "Then too," and since I've stayed in a Holiday Inn a couple times, maybe I can become a "therapist" when I get back?!?!?!?!?

Seriously...120lbs?!?!?!?

Gettin' late here...been listening to some classic CCR & Eagles...just about rack time.

Semper Fi from the Sands of Kandahar,
