Default I would never wear:

I would never wear a Vietnam Veterans cap. I never went to Nam therefore I wouldn't wear it. I would wear a Pscyo vet cap, because they are cool and I'm almost as crazy as BobK, but not quite as crazy as my Indiana friend.
I'm considered a Vietnam War Era Vet but since I wasn't deployed but I have met several men who never served in battle overseas in WWII that consider themselves WWII vets. But, WWII was scattered out all over the globe, whereas Vietnam was a specific site. Now I have a friend who is a banker here in Ellensburg. He few a cargo plane in and out of Vietnam, I believe from Thailand, he is a Vietnam veteran even though he actually never spent a night there. His plane was once riddled with Viet Cong bullets.

Default Thanks

I still don't mention Vietnam to most people because of my reception when I came home in 1969. They really would look at you funny and back away. I had one girl freind that had to sneak out of the house to see me because she couldn't let her parents know that i had been to Nam. It was a big let down. I still think at lot of people feel that way.

Thumbs up Topp Gee

Hi everybody
Just turned Myself in from AWOL status ha! ha! . On a serious note, been wrestling
with health issues, putting together documents for the VA, and trying to make it from day to day. As You know I'm an old "grunt" as well stationed with (Danny) whiteoak. All of Your points is valid. I would never wear a ranger tab, airborne wings, or anything else that I didn't earn. I talked to this guy who I assumed was a grunt because He had a CIB on his
rear windshield. I shook His hand and said welcome home "Brother". I asked who was He with over there, and He told Me Field Artillery. I didn't know 11B's was with the artillery.
Maybe he was a wanna be recipient of the CIB. I will try and stay in touch more often. Just got to get some serious issues re-solved. Mostly VA related.
"Stay dry"
