Sis was mobilized at Scott AFB
Hey gang,
My sister was mobilized last week for state side service at Scott AFB. Spent the past week with her and caught bits and pieces of what the duty was/is. Her group is to act as a Midwest point for those returning due to injuries. She is excited that she might see some flight time to and from Germany. I have not a clue about AF rank, but I do know they hand it out like candy (from what I saw). Hell, she joined in June and is already an e-4. Heck if she keeps it up at this pace next year she'll be with the Joint Chiefs Staff. She was stupid enough to be a medic like her big brother...just as long as the Air Force keeps her here, then brother wont be an ass. Air Force E-4, Samantha M. Deane, aim high sis!!!

In the Reserves they hand out rank really fast till E5 then its on the wait till the next slot opens up so If an E6 gets promoted then someone that is Qualified for his/her position gets promoted to fill the slot that was vacated. Now, on Scott AFB when they Med Evac me to the States after breaking my leg in Saudi during the first Gulf War period. I stayed a weekend at the Hospital at Scott(on my way to McChord AFB) and they have some great people working there. During my 20 years in the Air Force It was the Best Hospital Facility I stayed in

???on rank...
...thought it was for "average" promotion, 6 months in with good conduct, and moving along in training at a steady rate, you got your first,...
... again, you got your 2nd after the next 6 months... ...Sra. after next 12, for a total of 24 months... ...I went in with one, and got 2 after 6 months, and had Sra after 18 months,... ...might have changed...

Hey Doc tell your Sis I appreciate her very much and so will the troops she will be helping. It takes a special person to work with the sick or wounded and not many can do it.
Tell her we all proud of her and her contributions.
