Default No, really... who got spat upon?

Happy Veterans Day.
Now, who actually got spit on returning from RVN? Did you?

I wore my uniform (green and khaki) at lots of airports in '68, '69, '70 and
'71. All I got was ignored.

Nope. For the most part people I talked to wanted to know how it was "over
there."

Does having a bag of what the SF Int'l security guy said was dogshit
thrown at me when I came back through in 1970 wearing my dress blues
count?

Ah, so you were shat upon?

In April '71, I got shit-faced in a bar at San Francisco International after
getting separated at Oakland.

Sorry to hear about your shitty thank you, and I have heard San Francisco took
it out on the soldiers.

Peace, brother.

At that time, the Navy frowned strongly on individiuals traveling
alone in dungarees or utilities. Since I had to come through Japan on
the way back, and it was Winter-uniform Season there, I didn't want to
be spending a couple of days on restriction explaining to some LCDR
why I was on commercial flights in working uniform.

A man who once posted here as "Doc Edwards" and in whom I tend to
believe once stated that he had been spat upon, See that name in the
thread titled "Spitting" I understand that the author died a few
years ago.
