The news media is blowing this thing way out. The Stupid girl (32) did her stupid girl thing and a bunch of people jumped to conclusions that cost money.
The mayor wants to take her to civil court to recover 100,000$ . all the people that took off work to walk in fields looking for her are pissed that she is not dead somewhere.
She didn't call 911, she went to New Mexico. The only person to ask her why, would be the boyfriend. The marrage is there business.
Lieing to a police officer in the corse of an investigation is a misstomener unless there was a plan before hand to lie to the cop than its a felony. Charge her or leave her alone there are real criminals out there that need attention.

Better to have had cold feet now then to have kids later and find out you want out. I wish to them both well but there are issues here and I doubt she and this guy will ever get married and maybe its for the best.

The only thing I disagree with is that this didn't hurt anyone. Well, it hurt the taxpayers who footed the bill for her silliness. I think sometimes we all forget that shit like this costs us money for no reason. She should be made to pay for the cost of all the efforts made to find her ass. I'm happy she's not dead and I think everyone is....but if your gonna pull something like this, then you need to pay back the people that footed the bill. All she had to do was call her family or fiance' and tell them that she got cold feet. That would have been the end of the story. She brought this mess on herself when she allowed the kidnaping story to continue. She's no victim. I remember the skiers in Colorado who ingnored verbal warnings and signs and entered an avalanch, (sp?), area and sure enough, got buried. They ended up having to pay the NG for rescue and helo services. Now, had they been in a regular ski area....of course the taxpayers foot the bill, but when they disregarded the verbal and written warnings....tough. Same same this chick.

Think she should have to pay back the money. She hurt allot of people, mostly her family. She should of left a note or something. I kind of hope they go after her a bit. Just good ol fines. People gotta learn they can't do this kind of crap.

As reported, she didn't call 911, she called her home and spoke with a family member who handed the phone to the local police who inturn got GBI involved to trace the call. The person who set 911 in motion was the boyfriend.
Paco, I don't know what post your reading, but I never said she didn't hurt anyone, She hurt a lot of people. Her family should be very pissed at her, but she didn't tell anyone to call 911 so charging her for somthing the boyfriend did, even on her behalf,shouldn't be.
She broke no law that I no of, She told the Georga police that someone kiddnapped , but that was from New Mexico and Georg police have no juristiction in New Mexico.
She wont be able to live around there anymore, Thats probibly punishment enough.

I say give her a bill for all the emergency services.This is a clear cut case of fraud in my eyes and she should not simply skate on it.Same/same all the morons up here that take off into the back country totally unprepared and get themselves lost.Search and Rescue units should be reimbursed by the idiots.
