Shooting sounds great, i am always up for it. I am currently using a 7.65 mm Argintine Mauser. Way too big for varmints or plinking but my favorite gun. Floated the barrel and polished the chamber and it shoots like a dream. Put a 3x0 on yop and could part a gnats ass hairs at 500 meters.

Yeah, got all the computers right in the Hummers, they pull up take a reading and open the door and drop a stake, feet never touch the ground.

With all the digital arty now days you can shoot at anytime without survey. MLRS and Paladin have on-board GPS systems so you can "Hip-shoot" from any location, at anytime. On-board computers compute everything. Charge, deflection, azimuth, elevation, heading, MET data set from Brigade or higher right to the guns.

In the desert the biggest thing survey did for us, MLRS, was set calibration courses. Every so often you need to recalibrate your launchers with two known grids 4 - 6 klicks apart. You make a couple of runs, update and you are back in the shooting game.

What about target aquisition? Satellites? We set up the firing positions but the other platoons, sound, flash, metro, commo, were more involved with aquisition.

Can not commit much on TAB units, all that was done at other locations. PM me your e-mail and I can send some pics from the desert of MLRS firing, they are very large as I can not figure out how to shink them with my scanner, Got one from this Thanksgiving of me and daughter on MT. Scott, how long has it been since you seen the Witchita Mountains?
