MANILA, Oct. 12, 2010—A neophyte lawmaker has filed a bill seeking the return of two church bells that were taken by US army in 1901 from Balangiga town, in Eastern Samar. In filing House Bill 460, Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone said the substantive meaning of the annual observance Balangiga massacre has been “diminished” year after year due to the absence of the bells. read more
