Another Volunteer from the Watkins Family

I just heard this week My younger brother
John Watkins born in 1970 Enlisted in the Army. He will be going to Ft Jackson on the 30th of this Month for boot camp and then to Ft Lee for Training to be a truck driver, he is a Commercial Truck driver with a CDL but with the high cost of fuel decided to enlist again. In 1988 he enlisted in the USAF for a couple of months before an Ulcer got him a Medical Discharge.His Ulcers all better now so I guess he would still be considered Prior Service for his short time in the Air Force. He has the Option for training to haul Aviation Fuel for Helicopters and planes so he might get that while at Ft Lee. If he decides to makes it a Career, at least those couple of Months in the USAF will help make the 20 years go faster for him. He will look different in Army Green with the USAF Basic Training Ribbon on his ribbon Rack

God bless and protect your brother. We are all proud of him here. Trouble is, he'll come out of the service another Bob, Booger Lee, K. Tie your animals up when he gets home. Must have something to do with Army trucks.

Fascinating, I received two unsolicited gifts of Marine memorabilia within a week of each other recently. Didn't know quite what to make of it.

Did make me think about a thirteen week trip to Parris. If they'd have me, I'd do it just to see if I could do it (I can do it).

Even if he stays twenty years, he'll still be retiring as a young man. I can say this: I'm a '69 model.

And ain't Basic a lot more interesting when you can outmaneuver kids that are young enough to be... well, your kids???

Bob, now I know why you have leather seats in the car and leather couches in the house. It's a distressing thought. (Insert mental picture here) I don't think the VA will know how to deal with this one. Maybe we can ask that Sally Patel...world renowed Psychiatrist.

Gracie....go ahead and enlist in the Marines and if you want out after a while....I can do that. Actually I think you'd kick ass on the females I see going through there. The most exercise the majority have ever done is channel surfing.
