Default satellite radio

Have any of you got XM or serious radio yet?
If not yet, let me save you some money, DON'T.
The equipment to adapt your radio is around a couple hundred $ and then $10 a month.
The system works if your sitting in a very good area, trouble with that is there are no very good areas. The stations will fade in and out, the music is what they think is the kind of music your looking for. If your thinking on getting a system, before you do barrow someones or rent a vehicle that has it in it for a day and see how it works.
I no longer have the equipment or the monthly charge. CDs are much better. Ron

Ron,

I received a Sirius radio outfit from my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas and it has become one of the best gifts I have ever received. I don't know what I would do without my Sirius.

As for cost you can pickup a radio for about $50 with rebates and the subscription runs about $12-13 per month.

If you are a talk show junkie like me you can listen to a full spectrum of views 24/7. The music variety can't be beat.

I would suggest that anyone who is interested get a trial subscription or, as you suggest, listens to a friend's system. Sirius and XM have different offerings so check out both.

I live in the northeast and have virtually no dropouts in my car. At home I sometimes do have dropouts due to my antenna orientation but I correct that.

To each his own but I haven't been able to buy talk show CD's.

I love my sirius radio. Uncensored music and no 3 minute commercial breaks. It'd be different if the rock station(yes just ones) was worth a crap. On there I can listen to my heavy metal and many other rock stations.

Have had Sirius for over 3 years and will never have just am/fm again. Can't stand listening to regular radio. Have some problems with reception only when under heavy foliage....but other than that....no problem and it only lasts a second. I only pay $8 a month. You just have to look at the plans. I agree that like anything else....try before you buy. Sirius I can also listen to at home on my computer. Never get bored with the music....jazz, 50's rock, 60's, blues, college football, NFL football, talk radio, weather channel, CNN, Fox, and a whole lot more. Sorry you had problems with yours but I really do enjoy mine.

Thanks for the welcome, LT

Just chimed in to let folks know that for me satellite radio is great.

Not sure what you meant when you said you turned off your radio. When you do do you listen to satellite or CD's?
