Thus, and in the above context, just run the following Correct & Quite Differently Honest figures through your noggins. Disregard all the purposeful hype propagated in collusion by both Officialdom & Press. Call "Their" concerted mindsets & typically contrived echoed numbers: "Bull", "Disingenuous", "Deceitful" or whatever liked.

But,...and even amongst career public officials or private professionals LIARS are LIARS are LIARS,...PERIOD. Same-o, same-o goes for cunning career thieves, embezzlers, con-artists, hucksters or lobbyists.

Granted, The Premiums HONESTLY & DIFFERENTLY disclosed below are mostly overall approximates. Some could obviously be a little lower for lesser insurance coverages, whereas some could be much higher for much better or: "Cadillac Coverage" type Healthcare Insurance Policies. Only Monthly Premiums ALSO increasing every year like clockwork shown or paid for MEDICARE Parts A & B, are EXACT.

Besides,...only fools can seriously believe that The U.S. Taxpayer can handle the numbers tallied below if MULTIPLIED by ANOTHER 40 MILLION PEOPLE (Legitimate Americans & NOT)! Don't believe value of: "The Almighty Buck" will fair well, either.

Yeah, sure? Believe phonies & charlatans and all We Americans (self included) might just as well believe in: "The Tooth Fairy" & that Radically Fanatical & Mass-Murderous Islam will stop targeting & murdering Infidels,...after only about a short 20 year period of doing so. No longer will an about 80 BILLION DOLLAR YEARLY MEDICARE FRAUD be congressionally permitted. Not sure about how many BILLION$: "Go South" (both ways) YEARLY for MEDICAID also? But, no doubt MEDICAID FRAUD will be simultaneously rectified also.

So then Boats,...what's to worry about?
The obvious: "Savings" ALONE (never mind: "Fixing" anything) from both MEDICARE & MEDICAID should prove A$TRONOMICAL!

PREMIUM PAYERS on MEDICARE will then have all their PREMIUMS greatly reduced, while simultaneously be receiving better Healthcare.

FREQUENCY AND SIZE OF INDIVIDUAL RECOVERIES

Data about the size and numbers of estates affected are exceedingly thin. Given the small amounts recovered compared to total Medicaid spending, it is reasonable to surmise that Medicaid estate recovery is a relatively infrequent occurrence. A study conducted in Massachusetts (a state with a higher than average collection rate, a total Medicaid population of over one million, and a Medicaid nursing home population of over 33,000)¹¹ reports completion of the claims process for just over 1,600 claims on estates in 2003.

The change is sometimes leveled that Medicaid estate recoveries selectively target individuals with few assets, while leaving those who have the most unscathed.¹² Given the strict asset limitations for Medicaid eligibility,¹³ one might expect the typical deceased recipient's estate to be very small, there is some limited evidence to corroborate that the estates of most Medicaid recipients are small. It also appears that relatively few higher value estates contribute a disproportionately large share to the total estate recovery collections.¹⁴

The most significant contribution to the high value of some estates is made by the homes of Medicaid recipients, since the real estate equity in a recipient's home during life is not considered during the Medicaid eligibility determination, regardless of its value. However, it may be subject to estate recovery after the recipient's death.¹⁵ Therefore, it is conceivable that some Medicaid recipients who have owned homes leave estates that are larger than expected.

It is difficult to assess the importance of the home to individual state Medicaid estate recovery programs because of their wide policy and procedural differences, with real estate accounting for about one-quarter of estate recovery collections in some states to virtually the entire amount collected by others.^{16, 17, 18}

AARP’s conflict of interest

We first mentioned this a couple of months ago, when the AARP lost 60,000 members in a month for backing ObamaCare and its cuts to Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Dan Eggen at the Washington Post reports in more detail on the political connections AARP gets for its acquiescence on Medicare cuts and the potential financial advantages it sees in political support of the administration’s efforts to overhaul the health-care industry:

The group’s dual role as an insurance reformer and a broker has come under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks from congressional Republicans, who accuse it of having a conflict of interest in taking sides in the fierce debate over health insurance. Three House Republicans sent a letter to AARP on Monday complaining that the group was putting its “political self-interests” ahead of seniors.

GOP lawmakers point to AARP’s thriving business in marketing branded Medigap policies, which provide supplemental coverage for standard Medicare plans available to the elderly. Democratic proposals to slash reimbursements for another program, called Medicare Advantage, are widely expected to drive up demand for private Medigap policies like the ones offered by AARP, according to health-care experts, legislative aides and documents.

Republicans also question the high salaries and other perks given to some top AARP executives, who would not be subject to limits on insurance executives’ pay included in the Senate Finance Committee’s health reform package. Former AARP chief executive William Novelli received more than $1 million in compensation last year.

“We are witnessing a disturbing trend of handouts to special interests like AARP,” said House Republican spokesman Matt Lloyd, referring to Democratic negotiations over health reform. “In return, AARP is lobbying for a government-run health-care bill that will pad their own executives’ pockets at the expense of its own members and other vulnerable seniors.”

How important is the sale of insurance to AARP? The group was formed 50 years ago for the express purpose of providing insurance to retirees, in the days before Medicare. Today, over half of its $1.14 billion annual revenue comes from insurance premiums, royalties on credit cards, and so on. They don’t carry the paper themselves; instead, they sell their name to a non-profit in exchange for a cut of the proceeds, which are tax exempt.

In a sense, then, AARP has a vested interest in Medicare Advantage cuts. The MA program competes with their Medigap plans, which reduces their revenue. Any cuts to MA will mean more customers for AARP, and a boost in revenue … at least until the government decides to cut out the middlemen, in exactly the same manner Congress is considering with student loans.

When AARP offers its endorsements and its recommendations, remember that it has its own interests in mind — and that those may not coincide with the interests of their membership.
