All holidays are tough. It means something different to everyone. Be with family be with friends but don't be alone!

It's a holy day - go to a church - volunteer at a hospital. I tell my wife all the time I feel bad for those in the hospital over the holidays and I should do something about that.

Try to make the best of this day and remember the meaning for which this holiday comes each year. Remember your childhood and how excited you were waiting for Santa.

I missed several holidays over the years away from my family and I too can fall back into that lonely misplaced feeling. But I can't live in the past because that's another world altogether. You don't have to forget but don't live in the past.

Move forward as all of us must. Lost friends and family wouldn't want you to grieve. They want you to carry a message that today Christ was born and new hope will spring eternal.

Anyone can fall into the dumps over the holidays. For some reason many do. I try not to dwell in that darkness for it ruins the true meaning of the holiday. Look away from the commercial spects of the holiday and look for the meaning for which it began.

Let the spirit within open your eyes and your heart to the true meaning of the holidays. I'm not overly religious - I am a Catholic
and I don't attend church like I should. I pray each night for things to get better sometimes they do and sometimes they don't but I still try to get the message out through my prayers.

There have always been many soldier's who were away from home during the holidays. Someone had to be there! Why not you or me? You make the best of a bad situation we always did.
You are never alone - only out of touch. Reach out and you will always find another whose circumstances are worse than yours.
I am grateful for many things and we should all reflect on that each day. We are all here for a reason.

When I was 16, on Dec. 23rd my father's father died. Today my wife's sister is in the hospital with bad lungs, liver, etc. it's going to be a matter of hours, maybe a day or two. But compared to you Fred, that don't mean nothing.
I say my prayers each and every night. Pray for mom, my wife and two sons. Always say to the big guy if one of us needs to be taken this week, please let it be me. I know you and Shirley will make it through this season, know it won't be easy. Just hang in there my Southern gentleman friend. We have a date in March.
Whenever I get down thinking about my Dad who passed away several years ago, I make myself remember the funniest stories about him. It don't hurt to smile.

I'm keeping all of my brothers and sisters in my thoughts and prayers over the holidays and all through the year.

None of us have to be alone anymore. There are some in our lives that can never be replaced and we wouldn't want to replace them.

Still, we can all lean on each other. Some are strong some days, others are strong other days. I believe it is meant to be that way.

There will be a pack of in-laws and out-laws here tomorrow. I'm the one that is on the entertainment committee. Should be an easy day. I just need to act like my normal self lol.

If things get too bad, come here and talk to a brother or sister.

Isn't that the truth. I know when I'm feeling scared about the unknown- my soldier,my son is my rock. But other times- when he is unsure, God gives me the strength to give him the words he needs to hear- to go on.
