Another year gone by
I look down at my right wrist and see a silver bracelet with a name and date.
"Capt. Park G. Bunker USAF 30 DEC 70 Laos" Still MIA, never recovered, not forgotten. Our government wouldn't even admit that he was shot down for several years after he disappeared because of the secrecy of his mission at the time. Our government to this day has not tried to recover anything from his downed Cessna Bird Dog in Laosian territory. Territory that the Ho Chi Minh trail ran through and was used as the main resupply route for the VC and NVA. Laotian Pathet Lao are suspected of being the aggressors in anti-aircraft fire against Park's plane yet the Laotian government has never tried to recover any remains or return any POW's. Our government hasn't even tried to negotiate with the Laotian government. Guess 'it just doesn't matter.'

John
I think there are a lot of people that care about our guys, That area was jungle, Jungle will eat a tank in a couple years, Theres nothing to find of the small airplane. If there was anything the B-52s would have taken care of it at the time and 30 years latter the jungle isn't even the same. Never forget, but be realistic. A Thank You is not good enough for Park Bunker or his relitives but thats all there is.
