No one has the right to dictate how another must live – “and I do mean no one!” And when people attempt to do otherwise, all hell usually breaks lose, people die, economies are shattered, and common sense is thrown to the winds of time! But then, what the Hell, there will always be those people who genuinely believe that mankind is here to service their own needs alone? “And such, in my opinion, is the true nature of some aristocracy!”

It was upon just such a sorrowful day, many, many moons ago, when some damned fool decided that humanity needed kings, emperors, and even dictators, in order to function?!

“And let’s face facts, were it not for greed and avarice, there would be no necessity for any absolutist in this world, now would there?”

In the old sci-fi thriller (1951), “The Day the Earth Stood Still”, apparently there were those, even back then (some 68 years ago), who felt that our race of beings was screwing-up royally again, and this, just a mere six years after “Heir Hitler” blew his backside away in that bunker under Berlin (when, if ever, will we ever learn?)

And yet, through all of this and more, and as our history over these past years has proven, we have not really learned one damned thing – “NOW HAVE WE??” (And Judging From “Our Modus Operandi” - Nor Are We Soon Likely To Either????)

Had to chuckle to myself after reading your thread - I've been watching a Flash Gordon movie - when your post popped in.

Yes - I'm still a 72 year old sifi nut. And Yes - the world is doomed - if it continues on its current path. Its obvious to many but not the ones that count. If it isn't money - then its power - no matter the cost - which leaves little doubt that this world "is doomed" with its current world leaders. They will eventually destroy the Earth we live on. And we call ourselves the superior human beings - We are but own Destroyer's - its Inevitable. Just a matter of time.

What's the fix?

I don't think there is one not in our lifetime. The world has gone MAD and they just can not reason or work out any issues together on anything. They've all become Ming the Merciless.

I worry about my Grand-kids and what will be left for them - if anything?
The world is on course for M.A.D. (mutual assured destruction worldwide). If not all the people they will at least make the world inhabitable for life - what a shame!
