Gentlemen:

John Clemente, a former Lt with Charlie Company 2nd Bn 22nd Inf from Feb-Mar 13, 1968 (seriously wounded), and a friend have started a non profit organization to collect items for wounded Vets from Irac and Afghanistan. They deliver the items themselves to the men at Bethesda Hospital. They have a website in case anyone is interested. Perhaps we can get it listed in the newsletters.

The purpose of Bold Brave Courageous is to offer comfort items to injured Military Personnel who have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq. These items include supplemental clothing, toiletries, and entertainment devices such as CDs, CD players, DVDs, books, and games. We package these "comfort items" up in rolling suitcases, then deliver these suitcases to the injured personnel who are recovering in our Nations military hospitals.

Each and every one of the suitcases is delivered directly to the injured servicemen and women of our country by caring volunteers that are not only offering them the items contained in the suitcase, but also a thank you and an acknowledgement of their service and their sacrifice. Each suitcase we deliver has a greater value than the cost of the items contained within it through the recognition that

"we have not and we will not forget what they have given on our behalf..."

Bold Brave Courageous is a nonprofit corporation formed in the State of New Jersey. Currently able to receive donations, the foundation has submitted its 501(c)(3) status filing with the federal government. Donors may check with their independent tax experts as to how to utilize donations for beneficial tax purposes. Upon receipt of the 501(c)(3) confirmation, donors will be notified so they may take advantage of this additional status.
