Bill, I think I noticed him for about one and a half to two years ago on the atav site. He never mentioned why or even if he was medavacted out. I don't think he talked about being with the 101st until recently. He always complained about how bad it was driving on route one near Hue and he has ptsd but the Army lost his records and no one will help him. It seems to me a few years back that he was talking about being in that area in 1967. Thats why I wondered about him then, because it was almost all Marines up there. My company may have been some of the first Army to go to the Hue Phu Bi area and that was in Jan and Feb 1968 [it was just before tet, some of it during][Then the 82nd 101st and later Ist cav came]

Steve,
The 101st didn't move it's division HQ to I Corp until Feb. 1968. Like I said he is all over the internet looking for his Sgt and CO but the story is never consistent. There's always a variation. That in itself isn't a big deal but the classified crap he said is just BS and used by wannabe's all the time. I may make one last post to him and then be done with it.

Bill, I think this fake keeps switching units and time frames. I think its pretty recent that he's been with the 101st in 70 or 71.

Bill, so this Mike Benoit drove ice to the 101st to keep their amo cool, got 14 unit citatations, lost all his freinds over there and was in some kind of a clasified battalion. If that guy who emailed doesn't check out you may want to hook him up with Mike. They could tell each other some really good war stories.

Steve,

I have to laugh at this guy though. Did you read his last posts? He wrote "also on my papers it was
signed by the fbi y ill never know and i do know what i was classified". Now that's funny.

I think the f b i and the classified had something to do with the ice.It was probably a top secret that the ice was really for your coctails and not the amo. You guys didn't stop out there, at 4pm every day for happy hour did you???

A.B ... I know that your away but I hope you see this when you come home. The 506th Association finally has a new message board at http://www.506infantry.org/forum/index.php?

It's brand new so not a whole lot going on yet. The association officers need to let the members know that there is a replacement for the old BBS
