Exclamation Several Fronts - One A Sieve!

Our broken borders, and a war declared over before the last shot was fired, are dominating today?s news!

Domestically, and contrary to the selective misinformation, oozing forth from the southern international border, that boundary that separates the United States from Mexico is still leaking like a sieve! And some of those crossing into the United States, may indeed be terrorists!?

Difficult though it may be for many of you to imagine, especially those not situated along this thin gray line in the sand, our borders are as porous as a pig in a heat wave! If they (illegals) want in, they get in, even the dedication and hard work of our Border Patrol, can not plug the dike under current mandates, try as they may!!

And what of this ?War Upon Terrorism!?? Do you fight a malignant cancer by attacking the perceived core alone?

A few imigrants who inhabit our nation and partake of our waning blessings, come not to blend in and improve the matrix, but rather to detract and erode the foundations of something that they do not totally understand or accept! Hell, for that matter, if but to a lesser extent, even a few of our own politicians refuse to internally acknowledge the responsibilities, and not just the gifts of citizenship!

Finally, could it be that the ?Powers That Be? are just now beginning to realize that some wars are not over by presidential decree alone? Enemies seldom, if ever, co-operate or acknowledge the rhetoric of outside powers!! As such, I sincerely applaud the belated fact that our government is finally beginning to recognize - it being that this Middle Eastern foe is just not going along with presidential dictates!? (Shame on them!)

In Gulf War I, our most effective weapon was mass bombing (opinion). It softened the front, eroded the enemy?s will to fight on, and cut their resources to the quick!

In GWII, however, the rapid thrust across this enemy?s nation was dandy, but what in the Hell do you do when you arrive at the other side? Did anyone consider this before the fact? ?This is not a game of checkers you know!?

With all due respect, befriending this enemy as we progressed, did not work as anticipated, and the mass exodus to our side was also not forthcoming. The expected occupational mentality did not materialize either, and I also have my doubts if supporting yet another enemy country at the expense of our own will work!?

?WE SHALL SEE WHAT WE SHALL SEE?, and Hell, if the PTB (Powers That Be) again don?t like the mounting results, they can always (AGAIN) switch horses in mid stream, point the finger in another direction, or pull off yet another magnificent excuse, like that ?Bogus African Atomic Connection!?

Who in the Hell is producing political direction these days - "Hollywood perhaps?"

The President seems to just now be realizing that this snake (Iraq) is not dead and buried, just in a hibernation of sorts. And one does not live next door to a nest of vipers without expecting a few to occasionally cross the line and strike at its neighbors.

?You can not make a pet out of a cobra, after all, and supplying an asp with an $87,000,000,000 (to begin with) mink coat, with not make it a friend, nor will it dull it?s fangs or make it sane!" (My Opinions) :cd:

Bush didn't declair the war over, He declaired the major fighting over. 87 Billion, most of which goes to pay for our own military being there. There are hundreds more people killed in California every day than in Iraq.
What would you do, becides blame Bush?

Arrow FRIEND RON

First off, this has nothing to do with blaming Bush [that's pure paranoia]! I don't care if George Washington Himself would have made the decisions on life and death in the Gulf War, as some were (in my opinion) wrong and certainly conveniently fluid!! "NOTHING POLITICAL HERE!"

This is not an attack against a politico or party! It is rather a harangue against certain policies and ever changing reasoning! "I never have liked being handed a menu, upon which the fare and pricing changes on a daily basis, as does the quality of the political ingredients themselves!"

As for this "$87 Billion Dollars (+ or -) for the Iraqi War", and the claim that most of it will go to our troopers in the field, don't bet on it until you have absolute proof! I genuinely doubt (?) that all of this dough ($$$$) is earmaked for Coalition Forces? "As where there is a buck to be had, there is always a way to divert it!" Wars have always been know to create instant wealth for some, regardless of the cost to others! "A harsh fact of life, but a fact none the less!!"

Lastly, as for
Quote:
"Bush didn't declare the war over, He just declared the Major Fighting over,"
that is a fine and convenient point indeed!

As of this point, more people have died after this "MAJOR FIGHTING" than did in the actual war itself, and with our forces again being redeployed, you may very well see this "MAJOR FIGHTING" reignited!

Granted, the "War On Terrorism" will go on, but the victory landing on that carrier off of the hostile coast of California, was a bit premature and still showboating (opinion)!!

And ah yes, more people may indeed be killed in California than in Iraq, but not by RPGs and ambushes!! (Comparing grapes to watermelons perhaps?)

Do I feel that we were right in invading Iraq - you bet your ass I do (I always have in fact!!!!), but not for the vacillating reasons and logic being put forth by certain "Powers That Be!" Reasons, that seem to change and meander daily, as the political need arise!

Again Ron, this has nothing to do with freaking politics, but rather truth, which in my opinion, is sorely lacking on both sides of the aisle, and that veritas far outranks petty political maneuvering and ego!

The fact is (again in my opinion) that our President, operating off of poor intel. and advice, really believed that this particular enemy would quickly knuckle under as it did in 1991, and capitulate as they (supposedly) did over a decade ago!

"Well, it didn't happen, so who in the Hell do you blame - the janitor at the Pentagon perhaps - "THE BUCK STOPS HERE (Oval Office)" in my opinion!

"Bush Is The Current Main Man", and with the title, also comes the responsibility (believe it or not)!? The office of the presidency is not all cakes and ale, nor can the individual seated there-in, claim the laurels, and not suffer his share of the pain!

Post My predictions from the start.

I always felt we'd have a fairly quick victory in the major battle but felt that the guerilla war would last for years. The Muslims for most part wanted us to get rid of Saddam but they didn't want us to stay. If I were in charge I'd organize Iraq into geographical and ethinic states and try to let them solve their own problems and make every effort to get out of there as soon as possible. This isn't going to be like pre-WW II colonization that many European countries had going. They the people of Iraq want to have control of their own destiny. Well let them blow themselves to pieces.

Default KEITH...

You made a very valid point about our politicos longtime playing at politically-correct warfare or conflict specialists WITHOUT A CLUE, and especially regarding Iraq. If the truth be told or even admitted, it would be realized that most Muslims (especially the ruling classes) in The Region hate and despise America and The West and/or democracy, infinitely more than Sadam and Gang could ever.

So then, and since democracy in The Region is a NO-NO and ACTUALLY THE REASON why little old Israel has been perpetually under attack for about a-half-century,...how could anyone seriously believe that democracy has more than the chance of a snowball in hell at surviving in Iraq? I just don't see it .

Maybe for show-biz or political purposes and/or to get-us-the-hell-out-of-Iraq, there might be a reprieve or democracy for a little while. But, and just like here when dealing with the absurdities of politics,...pretty soon and before you know it, The Muslim Fanatics will legitimately take control and rule Iraq as "They" damn-well-please,...just like all their dictatorial neighbors. Hey,...one big happy family.

Besides, those people over there have been brainwashed by this regime or that regime into TOTAL OBEDIENCE for over 50 years. They must love it?
