Cool Army Two-Star General Fired While Under Investigation

Army Two-Star General Fired While Under Investigation
By JEFF SCHOGOL on August 23, 2018
RE: https://taskandpurpose.com/army-gene...investigation/

The Army has fired a two-star general who led Combined Arms Support Command, who is “subject of an official investigation,” said Col. Michael Indovina, a spokesman for Training and Doctrine Command.

- Maj. Gen. Paul Hurley Jr. was fired on Wednesday by the head of TRADOC, who lost confidence in Hurley’s ability to effectively command, Indovina said in a brief statement.

- Army officials declined to elaborate why exactly Hurley was fired or what the investigation is looking into. Task & Purpose could not reach Hurley for comment by deadline on Thursday.

- Brig. Gen. Douglas McBride Jr. will serve as Hurley’s temporary replacement at Combined Arms Support Command, which is based at Fort Lee, Virginia, Indovina said.

- Hurley is the second TRADOC commander to run into trouble in as many months. Col. Fernando Guadalupe Jr. was suspended as commander of the Leader Training Brigade after being arrested in July for allegedly agreeing to pay $100 to an undercover police officer, who was posing as a prostitute.

It seems rank doesn't have privileges - Was it a set up or rigged or just something dumb?
