The back channel stays open all year, and an area near the nuc plant, that is where the Eagles come to fish in the winter months, Covil Park, south side of Red Wing. Worth a stop if you like to watch Bald Eagles fish, you can pull your car on the point and sit there with the heat running and watch until you get tired.
