Default Marine Murdered in California

Saw on the news last night that one of the Marines that rescued Jessica Lynch was murdered Weds night while singing in his back yard during his welcome home party. Seems he's Cambodian, in heritage, and his family was having a cookout for him. While he was singing, they believe a Cambodian Gang member climbed the fence and shot him and his buddy dead just for the helluvit. The Marine and his friend where not in a gang. Anh, I think his name was, was also awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded in action after the rescue.

This is one sad friggin story.

Unhappy

PACO -

Sad and pathetic indeed! When the mentality of some has degenerated to 'Murder For The Helluvit", Partial Birth Abortion On Demand", Pulling The Plug On Someone With Virtually No Say In The Matter, Assassinating The Name of God From Our Fabric of Being etc., one has got to wonder if we are really advancing or in full retreat?

Reward offered to help find killer of Marine who earned Purple Heart in Iraq

(10-21) 20:25 PDT LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) --

A $10,000 reward was offered Tuesday to help find the gunman who shot to death a Marine who was celebrating his return from Iraq.

Lance Cpl. Sok Khak Ung, 22, who was stationed at Camp Pendleton, and a family friend, Vouthy Tho, 21, of Long Beach, were shot early Sunday while partying in a garage at a Long Beach home.

A gunman reached over a wooden fence next to the garage and fired six to eight shots before fleeing, police said.

"I am outraged that someone would so cowardly gun down this brave soldier," said Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, who is offering the reward.

"Ung served his country well, protecting our freedoms in the war against terrorism," Knabe said. "His killers should be brought to justice."

Ung, of San Francisco, earned a Purple Heart after he was hit by shrapnel from a land mine in April in the Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, Camp Pendleton spokesman Bill Lisbon said Tuesday.

Lisbon said Ung also participated in the rescue of Army Pfc. Jessica Lynch. The combat engineer was part of a "diversion force" which attacked the enemy to distract them while a special force unit went into the hospital to rescue Lynch, Lisbon said.

Ung was set to complete his four years of military service on Oct. 31.

"This man had only 12 days left with the Marine Corps," Lisbon said. "It's sad to think he came back from the war to die in this country."

Tho, a 21-year-old aspiring rapper, who was about to release an album, was shot once in the head, officials said. He was pronounced dead Monday night after being hospitalized in critical condition, police spokesman Greg Schirmer said.

Police investigating the shootings have not identified the suspect and the motive for the shooting remained unknown.

Angry Give the Marines a Bradley

Give a company of Marines a Bradley and turn them loose on that Gang.

That's what I say.

Take no prisoners.

No more gang.

Soldier commits suicide after fatally shooting man breaking into his vehicle

06:42 PM MST on Friday, October 3, 2003

By L. Anne Newell
? 2003 Arizona Daily Star

A Tucson man was shot to death outside a West Side hotel Wednesday after breaking into a vehicle and being confronted by its owner, an Army soldier, who shot him in the back and fled, police said Friday.

The soldier, Spc. Kyle Edward Williams, 21, was found dead outside San Diego on Thursday and officials believe he committed suicide with one of the seven firearms he had been carrying with him.

He left no note to explain the suicide or why he fired six shots at Noah P. Gamez, also 21, after spotting the man stealing an ice chest from his Jeep.

Williams spent seven months in the Middle East as part of the 507th Maintenance Company, the same unit as Pfc. Jessica Lynch, Army officials said.

He didn't have any disciplinary or mental health problems before he left Fort Bliss, Texas, at the end of September for 20 days of leave before moving to a new military job, the officials said.

Investigators said Williams was passing through Tucson on his way to visit family in San Diego. He never called his family or made it to their home before his body was discovered near his Jeep on a rural road, officials with the San Diego Sheriff's Department said.

None of the firearms found in Williams' Jeep Cherokee ? four rifles, one shotgun and two handguns ? was military-issued. A .380-caliber handgun might be the weapon used in the Tucson shooting, officials in San Diego said.

Tucson police planned to pick up that firearm Monday, said Chris Saunders, a San Diego County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
