The Color Of The Right
http://republicanpress.com/watts.htm
The Color Of The Right by: Thomas Lee Watts A Colored Man's View This is my first column for RepublicanPress.com and I am a bit apprehensive about it. I don't know why, since I have written books such as: This Ain't No Watermelon Party, and Black, Afro-American, Or Just Plain Colored, and also I have had a radio program with Brother Merv Kilgore called, 'The Brother Merv and Colored Guy Radio Hour.' I am still a bit nervous, even with all this experience under my belt, because everyone knows that RepublicanPress.com sets the conservative standard of excellence. It makes me so angry the way the Democrats have perpetuated the stereotype that they are the only ones who care for blacks in the United States. Just the other day I was bouncing my young nephew on my knee telling him the story about how the liberals have the Civil War all wrong. The Civil War wasn't about slavery, besides, most of the slaves were grateful to their white masters. I was telling him about how fine Americans like Strom Thurmond and Trent Lott have made this country strong. All of the sudden my nephew looked at me with the curious eyes of a child and asked, "Uncle Tom, why do you vote Republican?" I nearly choked on my chitlins! That is why I have taken this job with RepublicanPress.com, to educate the masses who are brainwashed by the liberal media! First I want to tell you about me. I was born in Big Cock, Alabama. My father, Dephi Greenhold Watts was a sharecropper with ten kids, and I am the last of the kids. My mother, Hootie Sugarpuddin Watts, still lives with my father after 68 years of marriage in the same old tar paper shack in Big Cock. They are both proud people and have never asked me for anything or any money. I admire them for not asking for hand-outs. I haven't been back to Big Cock since I became successful, and I don't keep in contact with any of my family. As a conservative, I am the outcast. I don't adhere to the philosophy that all blacks should be democrats. I have gotten where I am today through hard work and discipline. I went to college by the way of hard work, discipline, duty, honor, and by the way of several minority federal grants. There was no government program for me I did it all on my own. Sure, I took the government grants but I did it on my own! I worked hard to obtain those grants and I made it on my own. I didn't wait for good old Uncle Sam to give me anything. No, I earned my quota at Stanford! We colored people have for too long waited on the liberals. We have given into the notion of all this liberal talk of "fairness" and "equality" and "Civil Rights." Hey, my daddy was a share cropper, not a slave! ( Grandfather, Temon Toenail Watts, was a slave but that was a long time ago, and as they say down south, "Those days are best forgotten." ) The government or the white man doesn't owe me anything. I have moved onward and upward because I don't toe the liberal line. I have many white collar, white bread friends. As a matter of fact I married a white girl. I have succeeded in life, because I know that I am responsible for me and mine. I know that the white man doesn't owe me. I know that I am colored but I am white at heart. ( I get angry at colored people who want to be called Afro-American. I don't call my white friends English-American, or Dutch-American, or German-American, or Canadian-American. So why should colored people be called Afro-American?) The color of our skin should not be the way we get hand-outs from Uncle Sam. We colored people already enjoy the benefits from being natural athletes, and our people receive many scholarships to college by way of our athleticism. We coloreds also have the gift of music and dancing. We coloreds don't need to be given special rights over our white brothers and sisters. We coloreds just need to learn the value of hard work and discipline and trust that the white people will look out for us! I have learned that the Republican party cares for colored people. They care about us, and they want us to learn about helping ourselves. There is an old American Indian saying that says, "Give a man a fish and he will eat it, but teach that bastard to fish, and he will never show up for work on time. Give a man a lesson in the school of hard knocks and he will beg no more." That is the lesson the Republican Party wants us, the colored people, to learn. They want us, the colored people, to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps. They want us, the colored people, to do for ourselves and not wait for a government hand-out! That's why this colored man is a Republican! I am colored and I am a Republican. I am colored and I have a white wife. I am colored and I am very wealthy. I am colored, and I am conservative! I am colored, but I don't carry a chip on my shoulder about whitey. I know that the white man has never mistreated any other non-white race of people. So the next time some liberal Democrat knocks on your door tell them that you are your own colored man. We coloreds don't need the government to make a living. All we need is to make a living is hard work! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This message was posted via one or more anonymous remailing services. The original sender is unknown.
