Patriotism - Once Again!!

Back about one hundred and fifty-eight years ago, issues that still divide us here within these “United States of America” today became intolerable. And this of course, led us into four horrendous years of “Civil War” or “The War Between the States”, if you prefer?

Of course, most people know that hundreds of thousands of Americans perished during that conflict, many of whom were but kids themselves – and such, unfortunately, is the nature of war, as those who initiate and ferment these blood-baths, are rarely the ones who suffer the most or the longest!

So what is it that leads us into any war to begin with? Is it retaliation, survival, or even revenge perhaps? Whatever it is, we have apparently learned little or nothing from these periodic blood baths, as the hostile nature of mankind has aptly proven over his many years of turmoil, nor are we likely to any time soon? “Ain’t it amazing how mankind is the only existing species that is prone to make war upon itself?” Or how, in the name of patriotism, we can still butcher entire populations without even thinking twice about it!

Are we really all that much different, and if you cut us – do we not all bleed? Once again – “What Fools We Mortals Continue To Be!!”
